The Parents and Citizens' Association (P&C) is a group of community minded people, parents and citizens who take a more formal role to assist the school in providing feedback on school policies and activities, additional resources to be used to enhance student learning, and are actively involved in their child's education.

Joining the P&C is a great way to keep informed, to contribute to the quality education of your children, and to make new friends. Your contribution can be as large or as small as you can manage, but your support of the P&C Association is invaluable. As a P&C member, not only are you supporting the school community, but you are supported by the school community. You can learn new skills and gain a clearer understanding of how the school operates. This is a great opportunity to share in the school's decision making process and shape the future.

At Calliope State School the P&C Association:

  • Runs the Tuckshop and Uniform Shop, with volunteer assistance;

  • Provides sponsorship for sports and arts representation;

  • Provides each classroom with a fridge;

  • Contributes to the cost of buses for excursions;

  • Provides resources such as reading books, sporting equipment and musical instruments;

  • Provides funds for the Year 5 and 6 Camp and graduation mascot bears; and

  • Enhances facilities such as the fans in the hall and the new Prep shed.

Funds are raised through;

  • The Building Fund;
  • School Discos;
  • Mothers' and Fathers' Day Stalls;
  • Pie Drives, Fun Runs and Spellathons;
  • Raffles; and
  • The Calliope Catwalk Fashion Design Awards.
