At Calliope State School, we enjoy a wide variety of sports at both local and representative levels. Calliope State School participates in a wide variety of interschool competitions within the Gladstone region throughout the year. Students also have the opportunity to take part in a representative level by participating in the Port Curtis trials.

During term 1, the Port Curtis School Sport district hold trials for numerous sports. Students are eligible to attend the trials if they are 10, 11 or 12 years old. Port Curtis Sports include; swimming, basketball, netball, rugby league, hockey, soccer, cross country, athletics, tennis, touch football, AFL and cricket. Calliope State School has a proud tradition of students representing Port Curtis in a variety of sporting competitions.
